Euro eases off two-week high against dollar

Euro eased off a two-week high against the US dollar as investors took the opportunity to book profits after such a strong rally in the past three days. EURUSD has gained 2 percent this week, propelled by strong bond auctions in Spain and France on Thursday which boosted risk appetite and put the single currency on track for the biggest weekly gain in three months.

EURUSD hit 1.2985 early in the European session before sliding to 1.2887. Despite the decline, euro is expected to remain supported by the Greek debt talks which are still underway and investors are eagerly awaiting the outcome. So far, the likelihood of an agreement between Greece and the private sector securing a deal is quite high, as confirmed by Greek finance minister Evangelos Venizelos after a meeting on Thursday.Against the yen, the euro was down from a two-week high of 100.33 to 99.45, but still well off an an 11-year low of 97.04 yen on January 16.

GBPUSD reached a new two week high of 1.5500 right after the London session opened but soon tracked the decline of the euro and began to decline. Sterling dipped further after UK retail sales data. Despite numbers rising in line with expectations, many had hoped for stronger sales figures. Cable dipped to a session low of 1.545 before bouncing to 1.5486.

Forex Analysis

EUR/USD's recovery from 1.2625 extends further today and further rise might be seen. But still, near term outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.2878 resistance holds. Below 1.2624 will extend current fall to 100% projection of 1.4939 to 1.3145 from 1.4246 at 1.2452 next. However, above 1.2878 will indicate short term bottoming, with bullish convergence condition in 4 hours MACD and bring stronger rebound back above 1.3076 resistance.

Euro Masih Melemah vs USD

EUR/USD turun tajam kemarin, namun masih bertahan diatas 1.2700. Low sementara. Biasnya masih netral, dalam konsolidasi. Bila Euro naik terbatas sampai 1.3076 saja. Bila turun melewati 1.2700 maka perjalanannya berlanjut ke level 1.2450.

Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) kemarin bergerak anomali bahkan mencetak rekor tertingginya di level 4.174 setelah berhasil mendapatkan 41 poin. IHSG menguat meski bursa-bursa regional sedang berada dalam tekanan.

Pada perdagangan, Rabu (27/7/2011), IHSG melesat 41,335 poin (1,00%) ke level 4.174,112. Sementara Indeks LQ 45 menanjak 9,954 poin (1,36%) ke level 740,992.

Meski terus bergerak anomali, namun merosotnya bursa-bursa utama dunia akan kembali menjadi batu sandungan di pasar saham Indonesia. IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis (28/7/2011)

Bursa Wall Street kembali mencatat hari terburuknya dalam 8 bulan terakhir. Laporan keuangan yang lemah, data perekonomian yang tidak baik dan kemelut utang AS yang tak kunjung ada penyelesaian membuat saham-saham melemah.

Pada perdagangan Rabu (27/7/2011), indeks Dow Jones industrial average ditutup melemah 198,75 poin (1,59%) ke level 12.302,55. Indeks Standard & Poor's 500 juga melemah 27,05 poin (2,03%) ke level 1.304,89 dan Nasdaq melemah 75,17 poin (2,65%) ke level 2.764,79.

Bursa Jepang juga langsung ikut mengalami koreksi tajam. Mengawali perdagangan Kamis, indeks Nikkei-225 langsung terpuruk di bawah level 10.000, yakni di level 9.927,91 setelah merosot hingga 119,28 poin (1,19%).

IHSG Anjlok, Saatnya Berinvestasi

Koreksi yang cukup dalam pada Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) kemarin tidak perlu dikhawatirkan, justru penurunan itu harus dijadikan momentum untuk berinvestasi. Secara fundamental, tidak ada perubahan pada perekonomian Indonesia yang menyebabkan penurunan tersebut.

"Koreksi pasar yang terjadi hari ini di pasar saham dan obligasi memberi kesempatan bagi kita untuk melakukan konsolidasi. Jangan terlalu khawatir akan penurunan yang terjadi. Sekaranglah saatnya berinvestasi," ujar Senior Investment Manager First State Investments Indonesia, Ni Made Muliartini dalam siaran pers yang diterima detikFinance, Sabtu (8/1/2011).

Ia mengatakan, kekhawatiran akan tingkat inflasi menyebabkan penurunan pasar saham dalam negeri kemarin. Tingkat inflasi di bulan Desember 2010 melebihi konsensus pasar. Selain itu, ada juga yang berpendapat bahwa penurunan tersebut karena adanya pengalihan dana ke pasar Amerika Serikat (AS), yang disebabkan oleh kondisi di AS yang sedang mengalami pemulihan. 

Menurutnya, para investor, yang sudah mendapatkan keuntungan besar dari emerging market, kembali mengalihkan dananya ke AS dan pasar lainnya. Faktor lainnya adalah adanya demanding valuation atas pasar saham Indonesia. 

Setelah naik 46% di tahun 2010, PE ratio di tahun 2011 menjadi 15,5 kali. Ia mengatakan, sebagian investor melihat ini sebagai demanding valuation.Kemarin, aksi jual masif melanda lantai bursa sehingga IHSG terpuruk 104,804 poin (2,81%) ke level 3.631,453. Investor asing tercatat melepas saham hingga Rp 1,5 triliun.
